Fljótstunga farm dates back to the year 1011 in the old Grettir saga. The land has run in one family since the late 1800's and is one of the five original tourist farms in Iceland.

In the land of Fljótstunga is Víðgelmir, one of the largest lava caves in the world and the largest cave in Iceland. Fljótstunga is close to the world's most productive hot spring, the 4th largest glacier in the world and the historic home of 13th century writer, Snorri Sturluson.

In the land of Fljótstunga there are also rivers, waterfalls, fields, horses and many beautiful hiking paths. It's a peaceful place surrounded by spectacular glaciers, mountains and the perfect place to see the northern lights.
