Hiking

There are many hiking paths at Fljótstunga Farm and around:

The Lava Circle: There is a flat hiking path that starts and ends at the main house of the farm. It takes you around the lava field and beside one of the rivers that border the farm. It is around 90 min. walk.

The Berry Hike: This hike takes you up the hill of the farm and has a beautiful view of the glaciers, mountains and lava fields around. At the same time you will find different types of berries which you can pick and eat on the way or gather for later. At the middle of this hike you will find your self at a blue berry field. This hike takes you around 2 hour.

The Swan Lake Hike: This hike takes you to the lakes of Fljótstunga, at the very end of the land, where you can also see the glacier right beside you. At these lakes the whooper swans come to breed during the summer. This hike takes you through different and unique terrane. It is a very peacefull and special place. This hike takes around 3 hours.

Beside the farm there are 2 beautiful hikes: One to the mountain beside the farm called Tunga and the other to a higher mountain with a magnificent veiw called Strútur.
