Accommodation
At Fljótstunga we offer 7 cabins with 2 to 4 beds with the possibility of extra beds. All cabins have WC and cooking facilities. Some share a shower. We offer a camping ground with WC and shower facilities. It is possible to rent a kitchen space with a dining space for up to 15 people.
Fljótstunga has had open doors to travelers since 1965 and many people from all over the world have stayed with the big family that has resided there. The guests of Fljótstunga sometimes send photos, greetings and even videos. In 2011 a young group of editors and filmmakers from CNN came to Fljótstunga and left us the video on the right.
In Fljótstunga we try accommodate everyone's needs and offer three different options for your stay:
1) 'Sleeping bag accommodation'
Bring your own sleeping bag - it's the cheapest way to travel in Iceland. With this option you just pay for the cabin itself.
2) 'A basket with linen'
Upon arrival we'll give you a basket with linen, bathroom items (botanic shampoo, body soap and hand creme) and towels for body, hands and face. You then give the basket back with all its items before departing.
Price for 'A basket with linen':
1st night: Following nights:
- For 2 people: 3.500 ISK For 2 people: 3.000 ISK
- For 3 people: 4.500 ISK For 3 people: 4.000 ISK
- For 4 people: 5.000 ISK For 4 people: 4.500 ISK
- Extra person: 1.500 ISK Extra person: 1.000 ISK
3) 'Made beds 1st night'
Tell us in advance and we'll make the bed for you. This is a service only applied for the 1st night of your stay.
Made beds:
- For 1 bed: 2.000 ISK
- For 2 beds: 2.500 ISK
- For 3 beds: 3.000 ISK
4) 'Cleaning services'
At the farm we ask all of our guests to take care of and clean the cabins before departing. Cleaning services can also be asked for:
- 3.000 ISK per cabin
